Nokia Lumia Turning itself off!!

up until now I have just put up with this phone simply because it has lots of style and and I really like the look of it, obviously as you're probably aware this phone has had lots of complaints most of which are very valid points (BATTERY LIFE, LACK OF BLUETOOTH, LACK OF NOTIFICATIONS, NOT BEING ABLE TO CUSTOMIZE AN SMS TONE, NO MASS STORAGE) Over the last 3 months I have chose to put up with this but today I can no longer 'just put up with it'.......
Last night I set my three alarms on my Lumia to ensure I woke up for work on time, I woke up an hour late for work with no sign of an alarm!(5am) This probably had a lot to do with the fact the phone had turned itself off! I turned it back on, and left for work. by the time i arrived at work (5.30am) the phone had once again turned itself off! By 8am I noticed again phone was off, surprisingly at 10am I needed to use the phone and it was ON and ready to use! However by 12midday it had turned itself off again! In all the phone has turned itself off 6 times today! obviously the phone had been charged to full capacity over night so has had pretty much a full charge most of the morning? So can someone explain what is going on with it, and what is my next step, I can put up with most things (cosmetic) but how on earth do you expect customers to want to use a phone that is more unreliable than british rail in the 80's?
Luke, an extremely frustrated, leaning toward disgruntled Nokia Lumia 800 user

Just trying to get a rough idea of how many others are experiencing this problem? Not the battery issue as that seems to have been fixed in the latest update, I seem to be getting 2 days out of a full charge now which i'm happy with

Mass storage, well there is cloud storage which is available through skydrive.
Not able to customise an SMS tone... well the iPhone also does not yet allow this customisation, not sure about android.
Lack of notifications? the device has plenty its all part of the primary features of the OS the glance and go they call it. It notifies you of calls/missed/sms/email on the lock screen and the live tiles.

Due to the inability to change sms tones and the volume level of the tones already installed, I am often unable to hear the notification for a txt msg and so without unlocking the lock screen every 5 mins there is no way of knowing you've had missed calls/txts. No the iPhone does not allow this either and in many ways Nokia have tried to make this phone a lot like the iPhone and unfortunatly I can't stand iPhones or any apple product for that matter, hence the fact I'm using a lumia right now and putting up with the 'cosmetic' issues but never knowing if your phone will be switched on the next time you pick it up is rather ridiculous, it didn't mention in the advert before I bought it that it may turn off at any given moment just when you need it. Personally I think it's a great phone but Nokia needed to do a bit more in the software testing department before letting us be the software testing guinea pigs, at OUR expense!

In regards to drag/drop via bluetooth as i said there is no real requirement for this if you have WIFI at home as you can do this via WIFI - Just connect the device via a cable, enable the WIFI sync option, restart Zune and the phone enable WIFI on the device and connect it to a power source and you can sync that way from now on.
You can change the message tone if you wish to one of the pre-set ones available only at the moment - you can add ringtones to the phone, just make sure the volume is at maximum as the volume on mine seems to be ok.
I think it has been said before - this is their first device and just like most other manufacturers these days they get the devices out and release patches to fix issues when they arise - possibly down to market pressure to get something released.
I think the thing people have to realise is that Nokia had a file system for devices way before Apple even considered releasing a phone, Windows phone to me is a totally different experience compared to the iPhone/iOS - iOS you have to go into an application in order to look at any information/complete a task with Windows Phone 7 the live tile feel allows you to see specific information at a glance and your home screen can have as much or as little as you like on it.
Yes you have to connect it to Zune (personally i prefer Zune to iTunes as it actually works, personal experiences with iTunes have not been great) but most manufacturers are doing this even with Android devices now.

My original Lumia started doing this after a couple of months (March '12) and it would take hours of charging before the phone even realised it was charging, let alone allow me to turn it back on. Bizarre thing was that it usually happened long before the battery was anywhere near empty.
One day in May it happened again, but this time didn't turn back on. It was returned to store, sent away for repair and replaced. My replacement has started doing it as well now - it turned off this morning and took 20 minutes to come back on again after trying every button press combination known to man!
I've had enough of this phone. The screen freezing and not being able to end calls I can just about live with, but the battery problems with this model of phone are completely unacceptable - there's no warning for, no predicting and no stopping the phone just randomly cutting out and becoming a brick for an indeterminate amount of time, and sometimes permanently!
Do something about this for me Vodafone - I'm new to your network, but fast losing patience.
