I'm completely fed up with the whole situation and would love if someone can just give me a straight final answer instead of wishy-washy garble.
I visited a Vodafone shop before Christmas to do an upgrade but they did not have the Lumia in Cyan in stock. As it is a business contract and we wouldn't be in the office over the holidays I waited until the new year to contact customer services on 191 to arrange the upgrade. Everything seemed to go smoothly and they were fine with me ordering the phone in Cyan, however when the phone showed up it was the black version. I immediately called customer services only to be told they were out of blue so that's why I was sent black. I'm not impressed that instead of trying to contact me or even more appropriately tell me on the day of ordering that there were none in stock they just decided to send me a different colour.
I was told they do not know when they will get the Cyan in stock and I'll have to keep calling up every day to check. That in itself is ridiculous. They keep saying "it's not in stock so we can't backorder it". Which I don't understand because if it WAS in stock why would you NEED to backorder it?
I then found out a few days later they DO have them in stock if you do your upgrade online instead of over the phone (apparently there are different warehouses for the different customer services which in itself is also unbelievably disjointed) however I was promptly informed that as I was a business customer I could not do my upgrade through the website.
So I continued to call the nearest store and the 191 customer services and they kept saying to continue to call and check stock. I then received an email today stating:
With reference to our earlier conversation the stock team have come back to me and informed me that the blue Nokia 800 has been discontinued.
Discontinued? But it was only released in this colour recently and seems to be out of stock due to popularity?
I am quite sick of continuing to call up and would love someone to simply tell me if there is a chance of me getting the phone I did the upgrade for or not.
