Re: Nokia lumia mms

Hi Ainsey

It does sound like it is the an APN issue.

I have added the relevant details, the order is from another phone as I don't have the procedure to do it on the Lumia, but the information is correct.

Create new data connection

  • Press the Menu key.
  • Press New APN.

3. Enter data connection name

  • Press Name.
  • Key in Vodafone MMS and press OK.

4. Enter APN

  • Press APN.
  • If you're on a pay monthly price plan:
  • Key in wap.vodafone.co.uk
  • If you're on a pay as you go price plan:
  • Key in pp.vodafone.co.uk
  • Press OK.

5. Enter username

  • Press Username.
  • Key in wap and press OK.

6. Enter password

  • Press Password.
  • Key in wap and press OK.

7. Enter picture messaging server

8. Enter IP address

  • Press MMS proxy.
  • Key in 212.183.137.012 and press OK.

9. Enter port number

  • Press MMS port.
  • Key in 8799 and press OK.

10. Enter country code

  • Press MCC.
  • Key in 234 and press OK.

11. Enter network code

  • Press MNC.
  • Key in 15 and press OK.

12. Select authentication type

  • Press Authentication type.
  • Press None.

13. Enter APN type

  • Press APN type.
  • Key in mms and press OK.

Please let me know how you get on .

Re: Nokia lumia mms

Hi Ainsey,

Your phone should automatically have downloaded the settings when you first switched the phone on, if this did not happen I would back all of your data up from the phone and perform a full reset of the phone.

When you switch the phone back on with your SIM in it you should be notified of the settings being downloaded.

If this still doesn’t resolve the issue, please reply to my email with your details as there could be a block on the account.

Re: Nokia lumia mms

I have a SIM free Lumia 800 and a Vodafone Micro SIM. I can't get MMS to work on the device. Can anyone help please? You can't edit the MMS settings.

Re: Nokia lumia mms

The device should automatically take the settings from the SIM and apply it to the device, make sure that MMS is activated on your account (someone from Vodafone can do this) and you should be able to send/receive messages.

If that does not work then take the SIM out/Put back in else a device wipe may be the only way.

Re: Nokia lumia mms

Whilst there is still an issue with not being able to manually alter the MMS settings in the phone (more of an issue for other operators like GiffGaff), since getting a new blank pay monthly micro sim and having my contract number transferred to it, and inserting into the Lumia, MMS does in fact now work. So yes it is getting settings from the sim.

Thanks :smileyhappy:
