well gone and purchased a nokia lumia 800,my friend said the sim was smaller than the normal and he had to cut his down so silly old me gave him mine to do now it wont recognise sim,can vodafone please send me a new one,i cant ring them as i dont have a phone now

Quickest way might be to pop into a store, at the weekends the forum works on reduced staffing and so could be by the time it has been sent to you, Tue or Wed.

Get it in a store today and tomorrow and you are back up and running !
