Windows 10 on Lumia 640

Does anyone have any idea when Windows 10 will be available to the Lumia 640 on Vodafone?

Promised soo long ago and still waiting?

Hi

Vodafone do not comment on firmware releases for branded handsets as per their Firmware Statement.

I would suggest to keep checking the software update section in the phone.

Search the microsoft websitr for the app windows insider download then open, but read all the info before activating otherwise you may loose so of your data/pictures. back up to the SD card. It does stress it is a preview version but I have no probs on 2 lumia's Hope this helps

That's a great idea Richard640,

I can confirm that the insider preview is the same as the proper version especially if you opt for the stable slow release version.

The great thing is that you will get updates even if Vodafone don't push them out.

The Lumia 640 is earmarked for the Windows 10 upgrade in Europe but it will down to each carrier as to whether they push it out or not?

It's up to you if you want to wait or go ahead? If you don't like using the insider preview version it is very simple to roll back using the microsoft tool.

I've done it on my Lumia 930 (vodafone branded), it's very simple... 😉
