Not by a long shot I'm afraid. If you read through the entire saga on the Reddit thread and elsewhere and have a look at the photos. You'll see that the device was clearly badly damaged during transit (or afterwards for all we know) the case of the phone was deformed and punctured, something that will cause a lithium battery to burn up.
Even sensible news outlets commented on how the phone was damaged far beyond that which could possibly be caused by fire.

My biggest issue with it is, why on earth did he even accept delivery of the thing when it arrived in that state. Would you? I would sure as heck tell the courier he could just take it back from whence it came and be on the phone to the supplier straight away.
