Lack of signal

I've upgraded from an iPhone 5c to a 6 in the last week. The signal I now get is atrocious, barely there most of the time. I live in the countryside so the most I get is 3G, but I am getting no signal at all on my phone, yet if I put my iPad (which also has a 4g contract) next to my iPhone, the iPad has signal and the iPhone does not....can anyone help at all?

Hi

On the iPhone hold down the Power & Home button together until  Logo shows then release both & the iPhone will reset

Other options are :

Settings -General -Reset -Reset Network Settings.

Try your Sim from your iPhone 6 in your iPhone 5c as elimination to rule out the phone or sim that may be at fault.

Samsung Galaxy s²³ Ultra 512gb Phantom Black.

Sorry to add...

If the sim works fine in the alternative phone then if you have a local  Store book an appointment via https://www.apple.com/uk/retail/geniusbar/ and if it's hardware they'll swap it out typically in store.

Also ensure your on the most recent iOS and no carrier updates are waiting to be applied.

Signal fine with sim in 5c. iOS all up to date, so no reason for it happening. Unable to get to nearest store for at least a week or two, so will have to persevere with what is happening.

So by process of elimination your sim and account and masts are fine.

The iPhone modem seems to be possibly faulty.

You can ask Vodafone to send it off for repair by dropping it into a HighStreet store.

Or go the https://www.apple.com/uk/retail/geniusbar/ route if an  store is local. They'll typically swap it out if they can't resolve in house.

Hi there

If you are experiencing network issues, the first thing to do is go through the steps in the Network Troubleshooting Guide which will guide you through the process of checking for faults in your area and also trying to narrow down where the problem is.

If these steps don't sort out the problem, please could you copy and paste the template back here and enter your results that the eForum Team can look into the issue for you.  Provide as much information as possible to assist the Team with their investigations.

@Nettie1810 - this would be the reason why it's never an idea to post across multiple threads - it causes duplication of information.

I will shortly be merging both threads together.
