Nope no charges at all. Of course it doesn't look as smart as visual voicemail, but it does the job Glad i could help.

It is a free app and service, but in order to use it you have to set up conditional forwarding on your number (the Hullomail setup process sorts this out). This means that whenever anyone calls and leaves a message the duration of that message is deducted from your minutes. I've purposefully gone for the 900 min tariff over the 600 min one I would ordinarily get just to make sure I'm covered for this as some of my friends leave very long voicemails!

Also accessing the app and voicemails comes out of your data allowance (unless you access through a private wifi connection). So although it's a free service it's best to know beforehand about the minutes and data so you can take that into account when choosing a price plan. Hope this helps.

I'm not overly bothered as on O2 PAY&GO I never had it anyway.

The other question I have is only really applicable if VF do bring in Visual VM... As this service would be additional to current contractual agreements, would the service be provided within the current contract, or would it's use be charged additional to the monthly bill?

Hi Dan,

As much as i wished they were, unfortunately VF have no plans for the future to bring in Visual Voicemail.
I think that was one of the reasons why i was torn between choosing VF or O2, but tariffs & data were much better for me on VF, hence my decision. And its not like you can't get anything similar for non O2 iphones.

Of course Hullomail isn't as smart looking compared to Visual Voicemail, but it does the job well which is what i want.

At the moment our network doesn't support Visual Voicemail.

As a 3GS user myself I agree it would be a really cool feature as it gives unprecedented control over managing voicemail.

We don't know for definite yet when or if visual voicemail will be supported in the future however fingers crossed as like you guys I'd love to have it.

Not impressed that a BASIC feature of the iPhone is unsupported, I certainly hope this will be rectified soon.

Seeings as on Apples iPhone page it mentions Visual Voicemail and doesn't mention network limitations I find it rather annoying that a) it's not supported and b) I was not made aware that a standard feature of te phone wasn't supported :/

In answer to the MOD's reply. Yes there are a few alternatives to Visual Voicemail, but we should have the option to use the one recommended by Apple (There own) VF should be able to offer this service. Is Orange or three?

Chalk-up another migrant from O2 peeved that Voda doesn't support Visual Voicemail. I didn't even consider that it wouldn't be available as its such a core part of the iPhone experience.

Me too. Am really annoyed that Vodafone don't support what is a really good selling point of the iPhone.

I moved from o2 and it has cost me a lot of money. I moved because Vodafone are supposed to have the best iPhone network.

How wrong is that ?

Am not standing for it. Have no intention of using a third party app as a replacement. . Am considering moving back to o2 - especially as I asked about Visual Voicemail when I ordered the phone and was certainly not told it isn't supported.

Hello all,
I have just ported over yesterday to Vodafone after coming from O2 and I am slighlty frustrated that I do not have Visual Voicemail setup on the phone and just standard voicemail.
I am especially annoyed as nowhere does Vodafone state this on their site or sales material, that they do not support it.

I have bought a phone on a network that has limited functionality, where one of the phone's features is not working as intended.

I do not want to use a third party app to achieve a similar or worse experience than the one that is built into the phone.

Another point is that Vodafone has the power and capability to do this, as other Vodafone networks around the world are able to support Visual Voicemail just fine. So what is the reason why VodafoneUK cannot support it?

Could someone from Vodafone, please respond to this topic, as I would like to hear from them why they cannot support it and what is stopping them from doing so?

For those of us who use Hullomail, could Vodafone please confirm whether we will be charged roaming fees for diverts to Hullomail while abroad? I don't want to be paying roaming fees for the whole time the caller speaks to my inbox as it is completely out of my control.

You are quite right in what you have said, I wouldn't want to be charged either for something that wasn't in my control.

If you get called when abroad and it goes to hullomail, you wont be charged.

You will only be charged if you retrieve the voicemails.
