anybody else discovered an annoying rattle with their phone? If i tap mine at the back near the top, i get a slight rattle. I think it's the volume buttons but surely this isn't normal? I have 24hrs to decide whether or not to swap it for an HTC desire

Mine doesn't rattle Swap it for another iPhone 4, not an HTC Desire.

Probably just the vibration motor. I think they all do it.

Mines has a rattle when tapped too, sounds around the camera too.

I thought maybe it was the sleep/awake button but it doesnt appear to be

I took mine to an Apple store for a rattle, they told me it's perfectly normal.
It's the sensor that allows you to "Shake to reload" or "Shake to undo typing" in a message.

Obviously if it sounds like a bag of nails it's probably not normal.... Lol

Now thats a get out clause if ever you heard one cause the 3GS doesnt suffer from this rattle and you can shake to reload or whatever.

Maybe its the Gyroscope? but i wouldnt imagine it would rattle about !!!

Could possibly be that, although i thought that was mainly electrical sensors.

To be honest we all have a years warranty with the phone so worst way's you'll get a replacement "Same Day" from the Apple Store.

Mine rattles near the camera too. People are saying its the Auto Focus in the camera. Apparently the 3GS did it too.

The phone is amazing!!.....

Mine just started rattling today (only got it on Friday), I was worried at first but after reading about it online it seems a few people are having the same thing. Mine is 100% the sleep/wake button, when I put my finger lightly on the button it stops the rattle all together, I've e-mailed Vodafone to see what to do about it and I'm waiting for their reply.

Thank you all for posting, I've just been testing this with a colleague's iPhone 4 and have noticed a very slight rattling. I have been assured that this is perfectly normal and won't affect the functionality of your phone in any way.
