Agreed, the update has not caused any improvement in my battery life and i would suspect it has not helped with anyone else other than perhaps those that saw the most extreme of battery drains.
I took my phone off charge at 11:30 last night and it was at 90% by 7:30 this morning and there was nothing active and it was not used in that time.
I also upgraded my Iphone 4 16gb and although it was not charged fully, it also drained from 30 to 20% in the same time period.

Apple have released iOS 5.0.1 (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1472) which should resolve the issue around battery life. Just doing mine now.

Now that's some way off of the purported "up to 200 hours standby time" but it's not bad.
I guess if you put your phone into airplane mode and didn't touch it, that's how you'd reach the 200 hours, but yeah, 80 hours standby isn't bad.

If you have an Apple store close by, I would take it there. They will swap it and transfer data. Better than waiting for Vodafone (if they have any in stock of course).

upgrade 5.0.1 has actually worsened my battery life..
I got white 32g 4s since 14 oct with poor battery life, complained, received a new one 1 week later, no difference.
Could be from the same batch...
its poor to say the least 80 hours stand by is not acceptable.... charging twice a day is not acceptable with moderate use...
(I dont play games or use the videoplay back, but mainly as a communication tool.. messaging, email and phone calls.)
Should I be better of going into Apple Store and try another exchange??
Has some have some succesfull experiences and actually received a better battery in return??
