Could not activate cellular data network- you are not subscribed to a cellular data service

Hello Vodafone,

I bought a Pay as You Go the 10 of january and I activated text messages pack and a web pack of course. I have an Iphone 4.

Everything was perfect since yesterday.. I came back from Italy when I used my Italian micro-sim with data network etc..but yesterday night when I camee back, my iPhone said me "coud not activate data...."

WHY???

I switched off the iPhone 3-4 times... I tried to put pp.vodafone.co.uk instead of wap.vodafone.co.uk...

in useful..

what happened ??

Thanx so much

Hi Alby10,

Firstly, a very warm welcome to the eForum Family, it's always great to see new faces on here :smileyhappy:.

The most likely cause for this issue, is that your SIM card hasn't updated on the data network since returning to the UK. As far as it's concerned, you're still in Italy and so it's trying to connect to the Italian network. This can be fixed really easily though, all you need to do is try to connect to another network, and then back to Vodafone. Just go to Settings > Carrier to do this.

I'd also recommend ensuring that your internet settings are correct. These can be found in Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network. They should be as follows:

APN: pp.vodafone.co.uk

Username: wap

Password: wap

Once you've done all that, then your issue should be resolved :smileyhappy:. Let me know how you get on.

Try using APN setting of 'internet'. It might work better for yourself (if it prompts for username/ password use 'web' for both).
