iPhone 4 and 4S

I received my new iphone 4s on Monday the 17th (64G, White) and  have to say I'm very happy with the phone.  I upgraded from the iphone 3Gs and the difference in speed and display quality is quite impressive.  I use my phone heavily for data (mostly wifi but some 3G as well) as well as calls.  I have noticed that the battery life is better than my previous iphone but like with all other smartphones I end up with a max of about 24hrs on charge (less if I use games app's like angry birds).

Because I live in a basement flat my previous iphone didnt get much reception inside (except for wifi of course) but this new model lets me take calls and send messages in every part of my flat so I suspect the antenna is stronger which is a brilliant benefit I wasn't really expecting.  

I really like the icloud option of not having to sync my phone with my laptop manually and being able to upgrade OS without having to be hard wired.  I tried out the "find my phone" yesterday and it works well - only question is does it still find your phone if its turned off or the battery is dead?

So far I'd have to say that imessage is my fav new option, since I have a lot of friends who live overseas sending them text's was a costly way to keep in touch.  As most of them have iphones and have upgraded to OS5 we can now communicate more frequently and keep better in touch.  Since this pulls from my data usage instead of a normal SMS cost (and I have the 1G plan) I can see using this quite a bit.

Now I need to find a case, any reccomendations?

So glad you're enjoying your phone.

I lost my iPhone 3G so this is a phenominal upgrade for me, especially as I was using a HTC Wildfire for ages.

It's good that you're experiencing a better signal with the new phone.

To answer your question about Find my iPhone: Yes it will still work if your phone has died, but it will only be able to report its last known location.

The good news is, Find my iPhone has already been used to catch some thieves. I believe there was an article either in my local news paper or was it national news? That a guy was able to track his stolen iPad using it and the thief had a visit from some police.

So it's a great feature nontheless. My wife often loses her phone, so now I can just get her to log on to iCloud.com and see that it's still in the house or out in her car

I love iMessage too. I only currently use it to text my wife, but knowing when she's replying or whether she's received the message is useful and being able ot send multimedia items without worrying about the MMS costs is great.

I use iMessage to message my wife (look I am already using "message" instead of "text") but I have at least oen friend who also has a 4s now and nother couple that have an iphone 4 or 3GS and have upgraded to IOS5.

I would still like to see delivery reports for text messages to non iphone users, not entirely sure why apple are so resistant to support this.

I have an Incipio Feather case and it was £15 and well worth the money, usually i am rubbish at applying the clear screen protectors but found this one was a piece of cake and i have no bubbles on the screen, it comes with a little stand so u can watch movies.
