Help with contract

Hi folks. I took out a new contract with vodafone about June 2010. I was sure when I did it online it was an 18 month contract. I was told today that it was actually 24 months. Was wondering how much it would be to buy out my contract that has 6 months left or if I take an early upgrade will it be an 18 or 24 month contract. It says it cost 55 pounds to get an early upgrade so would that pay off my existing contract. Hope someone can help cheers

Re: Help with contract

Hi Gibby5980,

You can buy out your contract at any time however it will be subject to an early termination fee.
This can be worked out as follows:

(number or months remaining X monthly contract cost) -VAT@20% = Early Termination Fee.

A call to customer services on 191 will be able to give you the exact figure for your contract.

In terms of an early upgrade, The remaining months of your previous contract are suually added on to the new contract you are taking. For this reason you can only upgrade onto an 18 month contract. When adding the remaining 6 months that would make it a 24 month contract ie the maximum you can have with Vodafone.
