iPhone 4 and 4S

Hi, my iphone is 6 months old and recently the home button doesn't work everytime i press it. It sometimes takes 4 or 5 presses to get it to work. Trying to do the multi task double click it impossible.

Is this a known fault and can I easily get it fixed?

this has been very widely reported recently and seems to be a firmware problem., although not everyone suffers from it

ive been testings the new beta's over the last few weeks for the iphone and the first 2 4.3 beta's fixed this issue, but the latest 4.3 beta 3 has reintroduced it...

hopefully apple will have it sorted soon!!

Just an update, the problem worsened so I took it into an Apple store and they replaced the handset.

Looking on a number of discussion forums it seems that some people have found a workaround that solves the problem - try keeping the Camera App running in the background.  I know this sounds bizarre but a number of reports say this sorts the problem out !!

My home button & the top button on my iPhone is sticking and not working properly. My phone is out of warranty now. Could anyone please explain what my options are?

If your phone is out of warranty your options are very limited. There are plenty of companies that offer to repair iphones but who knows how good they are. If the warranty has only just expired you could try taking it to an Apple store anf throwing yourself on their mercy.

It is my apple warranty that has expired.
I have read somewhere that Vodafone's warranty is the full length of the phone contract, is this not the case with iPhones?

No it isn't the case I'm afraid. The iphone warranty from VF is limited to 12 months and they use Apple to repair all of their products anyway.
