iPhone 4 and 4S

I filled in a NUC form on behalf of my mum who had just got the iphone 4s, but needed it unlocked for use in other countries. I completed the form and received emails saying it had been accepted and i would receive another email when unlocked. Now i got the email saying the phone had been unlocked on saturday morning which was great. I followed the instructions with changing the sim card, but the phone will not activate with the foreign sim card still!

Can you confirm for me that the phone has been unlocked? And whether there is anything else i should do to enable activation.

You need to connect the phone with iTunes and insert the non VF sim card for the activation to complete as the phone needs to download the new carrier settings for your sim.

Hello i just  have a monthly contract for iphone 4s .

I wish to unlock it and to use another  non Vodafone sim cart in the same time but Vodafone told me that they will not unlock my ihone 4s during the first 12 months even if I pay £ 19.99.

Why they do not do that?

Three unlock their iphone 4s if you pay.

Advice me what to do and what are my rights.

I filled out the form on the 17th and still have not received anything. Apparently Vodafone are very dependent on the manufacturer but I have contacted Apple and they know NOTHING of this. When will I get it? I need to travel abroad and use the phone VERY soon and this is causing me a great deal of worry.

Have you tried hooking your iPhone up to iTunes with the non Vodafone SIM card in it? This is the best way to check if it’s unlocked yet.

If not, let us know and we’ll check the reference once the department we need is open.
