Keeping sim when upgrading

As my last question went unanswered, is it possible to upgrade a standard sim to
The iPhone 4s but keep the original sim not get the
Microsim, and I can use the sim from
My iPhone 4 in the 4s and my partner keeps her sim with the new contract in her iPhone 3GS? Or does the sim
Have to be upgraded to a microsim?

Re: Keeping sim when upgrading

Although I am not sure exactly what you are trying to do I will take a punt at it:

You can use a sim from an iPhone 4 in the 4S just by sticking it in the new phone, the sim does not have to be upgraded.

Assuming your partner is already using a 3GS which takes a standard size sim it should only be a matter of renewing her contract, If she has a micro sim she wants to use in the phone you can buy an adaptor (Google) that houses the micro-sim in a 3GS.

Re: Keeping sim when upgrading

Sorry, I find this hard to properally explain, I have an iPhone 4, my partner has an iPhone 3GS, I'm upgrading her contract to the iPhone 4s but using the handset myself and she's keeping the 3GS and we want to keep her numbers, so I'll be putting my sim in the 4s, but she needs to keep her sim for her 3GS, and as the 4s takes a microsim I didn't know if I could keep her sim, number and new contract on the original sim to fit the 3GS?
I hope that's understandable, thanks for the reply.

Re: Keeping sim when upgrading

Hi Kieranbiggs.

Thank you for your post, please accept my apologies for not getting to you sooner we are a small team in huge demand currently.

I understand the difficulty in explaining this as it took me a couple attempts to read it. :smileyhappy:

When you upgrade your wife's handset we will send a new micro sim with the new iPhone 4S however this will be blank and will need to be registered by yourself if needed.

If you don’t require the micro sim you can simply not register this so your wife will be on the new iPhone 4S plan but will still use her 3GS sim card and you can then use your micro sim from your iPhone 4 in the iPhone 4S.

I understand this is a little confusing and if you do have any further issues give us a shout and we'll be in touch.

Many Thanks
