Re: NUC for apple iphone 4

From the time of completing ther NUC form until the phone is unlocked can take up to seven working days.

Have you connected the phone to iTunes with a non-Vodafone sim in it to check it the phone is unlocked as that is the process for completing the unlocking?

Re: NUC for apple iphone 4

I've tried connecting the phone to iTunes with a tmobile sim card but just comes up saying that the sim card isn't valid. When I first had the phone I could use any sim card in there but then I updated my phone yesterday to the latest firmware 5.1 and then could only use vodafone. Strange x

In that case your phone had not been officially unlocked but it was  hacked to unlock it.

When you updated the firmware it relocked itself to the original carrier which was Vodafone.

It couldn't of been hacked I had it brand new a week ago off Vodafone an haven't really got a clue how to use it yet let alone hack into it :s it was brand new sealed in the box so it couldnt have been used before could it?

That is a mystery then.

All phones supplied by Vodafone are locked to Vodafone and will not accept  any other network sim card unless they are either officially unlocked or hacked to unlock it.

In the case of a hack as soon as firmware is updated it relocks itself to the originating network. Offically unlocked ones always stay unlocked.

You are probably best off getting in touch with 191 and asking them to check the IMEI number of the phone that your were supplied with, they will be able to tell you if the phone was locked to Vodafone or what the status was.

Once you complete the NUC form there it generally takes up to seven working days to complete the unlock process. However I beleive that you have to have had the phone for fifteen days before an unlock request can be accepted.

You do not have to wait for an email to tell you that it is unlocked, once you have had the NUC accepted just connect it to iTunes after 5 days with a non-Vodafone sim card in it to see if it is unlocked, if not then just try again daily.
