On Friday I decided to take the plunge and upgrade early to 4S 16 GB white.
I did this online, and received an email saying my order has been received, does anybody know when I should expect the confirmation email? thought I would have had it by now. I also opted to collect iphone in store, now I know the store has stock so does this mean I should be able to collect straight away or do I have to wait for back orders to be fulfilled?

Most of us who ordered a week ago didn't other than the order one.
You should get an email when it has been dispatched. There is a sticky at the top of this forum which will give you updates about stock availability.

Still not had any confirmation from Vodafone about my order.
spoke to customer service several times, at first I was told 2-4 days, then told 22nd at the latest, then told 1-2 weeks and now I am being told 2-4 weeks.
I cannot believe vodafone has not even tried to communicate these developments to me. Every day I have had to ring and find out for myself that the lead time keeps getting pushed further and further out. And all this while my account has been updated and I am paying for something I do not have. I would like for a mod to get in touch with me to sort this out.
The longer this goes on, the more likely I am to cancel my upgrade and go to o2.

Apologies if you have not been receiving the notification emails. These were caught up in a backlog due to the demand previously, but not being received does not mean that the order is not in place.
The only information that we have available on stock levels at this point is on our iPhone 4S Stock Update thread - if you keep an eye on this you can see when your model is in stock and when we are waiting for a delivery.
