Quick Question regarding iPhone tariff

Hi there,

I am on the £31 / month iPhone 4S tariff which is 300 mins, 500MB data and unlimited text. However when I logged in online it said my plan has 3,000 texts - how on earth is that unlimited? At some occasions I do go over 3,000 texts, so this is slightly worrying.

So what is it, truly unlimited or 3,000 texts?

Re: Quick Question regarding iPhone tariff

Initially I thought this was a fair usage policy which affected all of us. Then I logged into my account.

It seems mine says Unlimited. But I am on a higher tariff - £46 per month.

3000 is a lot, admittedly, but still a limit nonetheless so hopefully it is a mistake.

I used about 900 texts last month. I thought that was a lot!!

Guess unlimited really is not UNLIMITED. It's 3,000 according to the live chat customer services member I was chatting to today...

Vodafone you should really stop misleading prospective customers, 3000 texts IS NOT UNLIMITED.

Where online did you see it said 3000 texts? Everywhere I've seen on my account it says unlimited.

Follow the breadcrumbs.

My Account >> My Phones & Plans >> Upgrade

Mine says:

Your current plan

300 minutes
3000 texts
500 MB data

If circumstances permit it is always worth looking at buying your own phone and then going for a sim only deal:

My sim only is

£10 per month, 300mins, unlimited texts and 500MB data - As yet I have never reached any of the limits.

Oh yeah mine is the same.

It's very odd because I haven't seen any terms and conditions ever to suggest that a fair use policy exists.

Re: Quick Question regarding iPhone tariff

Hi guys,

With the texts, "unlimited" does actually mean unlimited.

3000 texts was the old fair usage policy for unlimited texts, and we've just left that displayed even though the fair usage threshold has been removed for the time being.

Re: Quick Question regarding iPhone tariff

is that really true that the fair usage threshold has been removed?! I called to upgrade mine yesterday, and the advisor still said there's a fair usage for texts which is 3000?
(though i don't think i will ever send 100 texts a day!)
I was also told that there will be no rollover for the inclusive mins! That's really disappointing!

Hi schan,

I can confirm that your unused allowance will not carry over to the next month and we no longer have a fair usage cap on our unlimited text bundles, they are truly unlimited.
