iPhone 4 and 4S

Hello all, I bought a 4s thats locked to vf and on pay monthly,  this was on Tuesday 13 December. at the same time with the previous owners permission i filled in the on line form to get it unlocked. and asking the Seller to keep me informed as to any emails Vodafone should send him regarding any reference to the unlock. yesterday  (21th December) thinking i should have heard something by now i text him for an update.

He text back saying he hadn't received any emails as yet but been would keep me informed. i thought this was very slow of Vodafone, surely there should have been a "Request Received" plus a reference number ??

This afternoon (22nd Dec) i got a text saying Vodafone had emailed him saying the request was being processed but not in an instance, i wasn't sure how to digest this info,  i asked if there was any Reference number, no there wasn't he said just the info in the email.

Is this normal, is this the procedure Vodafone takes to unlock an iphone 4s. Should i just wait am i beeing impatient?  in the mean time thanks to anyone who can help or advise me please ....

Hi Rovic,

I know over the phone that you do get a ref number provided so that you can check up on your unlock request or if over the phone the unlock request can be checked by CTN or IMEI if you dont have the unlock ref number. Normal timescale is usually 4 to 5 days as it is done by the manafactuerer and then an email is sent. What I would do is to get the account holder to call and check on the request. It could also be the time of the year and high demand for these devices and alot of these phones are being requested to be unlocked.

 I'll give it anther day then i maybe will ask the account holder to give them a Call. i had considered the time of year but i would have thought 10 days was ample!

I'm not sure if they include weekends with their unlocking only imagine they do. plus I'm still not sure what they mean by "request is being processed but not in an Instance" ??  just have to learn not to be so  impatient !

could still do with some advice on my phone unlocking .... its been 11 days now!  the chap i bought it from has still had only the one email, and as i explained he didn't or couldn't find any reference within the email. he text me today saying he "may" have found one but wasn't sure.

He thinks the reference number could be 8085777 is there any way this can be please?  i really thought the unlock form had been submitted in ample time as i wanted this unlocked for Christmas day cause it a present. any help or advice would be really most welcome ....

HELPPPPP! This is beginning to be very frustrating ! Is there anyone on the forum who can tell me how ( If Possible) to check the reference number I've been given concerning the Statues of the unlocking of my 4s. The reference number is ... 8085777 Anybody please !!!

This story just gets stranger with every hour that passes.

I've still had no luck with the unlocking of my iphone. I've ask for help from almost every corner of the Vodafone empire!

I've been pushed from this corner to that corner. Been as honest as possible, explained the problem time after time to just about every one who works Vodafone!

Last night i was advised to contact  "nucresolutions"  which i did with an email, Explained the problem in every detail possible. supplied name and address the lot!

Got an email back very quickly which really pleased me. it told me to my surprise that they hadn't received any online request form to unlock my phone?

This can't be right cause i  "myself"  filled the request form in on the 13 December! Can a form go missing once the send button is hit?

anyways I've answered more questions ( the same one's i put in my email) and sent it on its merry way...... Will my shiny new (second user) iphone 4s be unlocked by the weekend ...... Who Knows !!!! ;-[[
