Usually I have no issues when at home, my iPhone goes straight to wifi. However, this afternoon the wifi strength was poor on both my iPhone and laptop, the laptop is fine now but my iPhone will not reconnect; it keeps saying "unable to join network" - any ideas?
Please help, it's starting to really annoy me!

The best thing to do is to go into settings and 'forget' this network and then re-join it. You might also be advised to do a hard reset.

Hiya
Thanks for your reply, I've tried forgetting it a few times and it still won't connect. How do I hard reset, and would i need to back up first?

You can reset the network settings only. Go to settings - general - reset - Reset Network Settings. You will loose all wifi passwords once you do this but nothing else on the phone.

Thanks for that, I just tried and it STILL won't let me on! ![]()
I also did a reset where you hold the sleep/wake and home button down for 10 seconds, that hasn't helped either

Two things. When you held the two buttons down for 10 seconds, did you ignore all prompts and wait until the Apple logo appeared?
Second, can the phone connect to any other Wi Fi networks? If it can you know that the hardware is working OK and it is a settings issue. If it can't, you probably have a hardware issue and need to visit an Apple store.

Fixed it!
Happy days!
I had tried rebooting the router the other day and it didn't work, so we gave it another try today and it now works!
Thanks for your help all ![]()

I have had the same difficulty with my HTC Wildfire which would connect but immediately disconnect itelf. I saw a hint somewhere last night to re-enter the password making sure that there was a gap between each word in my long password. So today I disconnectred and re-connected using this process and SUCCESS at last...I am now connected to my home wifi. I must say that there is ashortage of info in the HTC Instruction Booklet about this procedure..it assumes all is straight forward. I also had difficulties sending atttachments with text messages until I found that you MUST have the internet turned on ...yet this was not mentioned in htc procedures..htc SHOULD HAVE A GLOSSARY OF TROUBLE SHOOTING HINTS in its instruction book.
