Waiting for unlock still...

I recently phoned up Vodafone and requested a iPhone 4 unlock. The lady on the phone asked for my IMEI number and all the other details and said she'd sent the request off.

My reference number is: 313344

Can someone please let me know what is happening?

Thank you

Hiya

These are normally done within 48 hours, if you call or email via contact us with a referenc number this can be investigated for you, it may have already been done

Have you connected the phone to Itunes to see  if the unlock has been processed by Apple?

There is no unlocking code for the iPhone. The number that you receive from Vodafone is the reference number of your request.

Vodafone ask Apple to unlock the phone, Apple then change the phone’s details on their database to show it is unlocked. Once Apple have processed the unlock request the next time you connect the phone to iTunes you will get a message in iTunes that the phone is now unlocked. The message will also ask you to insert a sim from a different network to the one the phone was locked to which will complete the unlocking. Once this is done the phone will remain unlocked.

Re: Waiting for unlock still...

Sometimes you will get a text or email from Vodafone, but it is not necessary.

All you need to do is to connect the phone to iTunes with a non VF sim card in it, when it is unlocked a message will appear in the iTunes window telling you it has been unlocked.

Usually unlocks take about three days so just keep connecting each day until you get the message.

Re: Waiting for unlock still...

Hi jamiew23

Usually unlock requests for Apple devices take up to 7 days to complete and as kids rightly advises you'll get a notification via iTunes to let you know the process is ready to complete. At this point you just need to replace your SIM card with non-Vodafone SIM and this completes the process.

Unfortunately we don't have access to NUC requests, however if you get to the point where your request is over 7 days old let me know.

Thanks

Simon
