iPhone 4 and 4S

Since I installed iOS 5.01 wirelessly I have been unable to sync without connecting to my desktop and the sync now option in settings is greyed out even when connected to a power source.

Anyone else had this issue and and tips at all?

Mine is in the same situation as yours, but I have resolved by connecting the iPhone with the cable, clicking on it in iTunes and clicking on "Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi"

with your phone connected to iTunes, make sure you have the options ticked as in the picture below.

Thanks guys, however I have this option ticked in iTunes.

Before I upgraded, wirelessly, to 5.01 I could sync from anywhere is the house when connected to power, but now I can only sync when connected to the pc. I also updated to latest iTunes last week but can't remember the edition.

I have also checked that iTunes preferences also allow wireless sync but no joy so far.

It as an odd one.

I remember why mine was off now: I turned it off.

Keeps popping up iTunes, very annoying. Phone isn't even connected to power

If you've got "Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected" Ticked, that will be why iTunes keeps popping up.

It is VERYannoying. 

Just realised my Calendar isn't syncing properly, but that's for another thread!

Found the problem at last... Zonealarm update had switched on max security, blocking my connection for wifi sync - doh!
