Re: iPhone 4 Unlock Reference Number

Hi Pablos234,

I can't find the details using that particular reference number but don't worry, with some further information I should be able to track it down.

Can you follow the instructions on the private message I've just sent you and a member of the team will be in touch shortly?

You can find your PM inbox here.

i look forward to hearing from you.

Kay

Re: iPhone 4 Unlock Reference Number

Hi Kay.

Thanks for all the support from everyone.

I put a different sim in the phone this morning and connected to itunes and it worked, so i presume the previous owner completed the unlock request form and it was executed on your end very quickly.

Very happy cutomer right now.

Thanks again

Paul.

Re: iPhone 4 Unlock Reference Number

Thanks for the reply.

I wasn't given any reference number, just walked into the store and that was it. Just said it would take upto 48 hours, but nothing has happened.

Re: iPhone 4 Unlock Reference Number

Hi deetrick

As long as you are the registered owner of the iPhone on your account this should have been done providing the request was carried out correctly.

After two weeks I would recommend resubmitting the request for your Network Unlock Code which you can do yourself through our Help Centre.

It would be fantastic if you could let us know how you get on.

Many Thanks

Re: iPhone 4 Unlock Reference Number

Just an update. Went back into the vodafone store, spoke to a nice woman who sorted it out for me, got an email a few days later to say the phone is now unlocked, however when I pop the new sim card into the phone, iTunes does nothing, no confirmation and the phone still says no service. I've tried this with two sim cards and have done a full reset.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Re: iPhone 4 Unlock Reference Number

Hi deetrick,

Once this has been unlocked then you shouldn’t have any issues to simply put a non Vodafone UK SIM in the phone and perform a restore.

However can you take a look at the email you received to see if an IMEI number is listed and see if this matches the IMEI number of the phone you have?

James

If the device is on a Pay Monthly agreement then the device can only be unlocked by the registered owner and this is free.

For a Pay As You Go phone however as there is no requirement to register then this can be unlocked providing the required information on the form is provided and there is £20 credit for the payment on the Pay As You Go SIM.

The end user needs to have an active Vodafone SIM card and be in the UK to be able to unlock any handset.

There is in fact no unlocking code for the iPhone it is all done by connecting the phone to iTunes.

The person requesting the unlock must be the original owner of the phone if supplied on contract in which case it is free. If it is a PAYG phone the cost is £19.99.

Just fill in the NUC form  http://campaigns.vodafone.co.uk/UnlockCodeRequestForm/

Vodafone can tell if you are the original owner of the phone from the details you enter. You do not need any paperwork to do so.

While you are waiting for a mod to pick up your post you can check if the phone is unlocked by connecting it to itunes with a non-Vodafone sim card. If the phone has been unlocked you will see a pop-up message telling you so.

The mods are a small team dealing with all of the forums so it depends how busy they are at the time, give it a couple of days when they are busy.

In the interim have you bothered to connect the phone to iTunes to check for yourself if it is unlocked?

All Vodafone do is to process your request then ask Apple to unlock the phone in their database, so once it leaves Vodafone you are in Apple's hands. The process generally take up to 5 days, when did you receive your confirmation email?

Re: unlock?

Hi chowdaryforu

Thank you for your posts. :smileyhappy:

kids is correct that we request the unlock code but it is Apple that will provide this, and when you connect to iTunes you will be greeted with a message informing you that your device is unlocked.

Have you tried this?

Many Thanks

Re: iPhone 4 Unlock

[ Edited ]

Having troble unlocking my phone. I have called Vodafone Support three times during the last seven weeks, trying to get them to help me. They've told me to wait for the e-mail, but I haven't recieved anything. I still have the credits left, so nothing has clearly happend. I tried filling in the Unlock Request Form, but they just told me to call the Support again.. Sigh.

Don't know what I'm doing wrong, but this is really frustrating since I'm not in the UK anymore and can't use my phone at all.
