iPhone 4 and 4S

Hi this is my first post on here (i've searched the forum but have a query). When i sync my new vodafone iphone 4 to itunes for the first time will the new iphone sync up to all of my old o2 contacts or will i have to make a note of all my old contacts before i erase my iphone 3g? Thanks for your help in advance

Sync your 3G to Outlook or other address book and your contacts will sync to your new iPhone if you instruct itunes to sync to the same address book
