Since about 4 weeks I don't receive texts from a friend (phone in Russia). I received texts from her before without any problem. Neither me nor her changed a phone or any settings in our phones. I received her texts on my blackberry (which is also vodafone). I also asked her to send texts to two colleagues, both on iphones, one of them on vodafone - they got her texts right away. I obviously don't know whether there are any further numbers from which I don't receive texts. Grateful for any tips on how to solve this or what this could be caused by.

The iPhone itself doesn't have the ability to block individual numbers for calls or texts, so whatever the problem is it is either netowerk related or with the phone trying to send the text to you.

You mention being able to receive texts on a Blackberry. Have you ever been able to receive texts on this iPhone? When you changed phones did you keep the same number?

Yes, was receiving texts all the time on my iPhone. I got new iPhone a week ago and the problem remains. And yes, the same number.

Getting a different iphone won't help as the problem is nothing to do with the phone. It is probably a problem with your friends network.

If this is my friend's network than how comes she can send texts to my vodafone blackberry and two randomly picked colleagues, one on O2 and one on vodafone?

Only your friends network can answer that question. Also Vodafone technical support might be able to help. But it isnt the iPhone that is the problem.

What phone is being used to send the texts? Is there anyone else on that network that can send a test text to you?
