I bought an iPhone for my daughter for her birthday. Her PAYG number was ported on the new contract MicroSim by Vodafone customer services so that I could put the MicroSim into her old mobile (using an adapter) and keep the iphone until her birthday.
As the MicroSim is currently working in her old phone does that mean I don't need to do the Sim activation bit, just the phone activation?

Thanks for clarification.
Regarding the iPhone activiation what information is that going to ask for. The Vodafone help unhelpfully just says follow the screen instructions. Is it just my daughter's Apple Id logged in or is more information required. I presume there is some sort of BT OpenZone WiFi setup but my duaghter isn't 18 so I'm not sure that will work and I'm a bit worried that she can use her Apple Id as I own the phone contract.

You have the iphone micro SIM activated and you now need to activate the phone by synchronising with itunes. You may find the following information helpful.

How do I register for BT Openzone ?
As the contract is in your name, you need need to make any enquiries to Customer Services.
