iPhone 4S personal hotspot

I have recently got the new iPhone 4S for Christmas, and have since, without success, attempted to use the personal hotspot, however when I click to 'set up personal hotspot' I receive the message 'to enable Personal Hotspot on this account, visit http://www.vodafone.co.uk/help/iphone' however when I do this I can find no way of enabling it, and the only help I receive doesn't acknowledge the presence of the pop up with the above message. I'm on a contract with 500mb of internet so see no reason I can't... Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Hi brogan65,
To get the personal hotspot to work, you need to have tethering enabled on your number. If you dont have tethering enabled, you would need to get it added. A quick call to customer services should be able to get it added, but it can take up to 24 hours for the access point for tethering to attach to the network, and you would then need to perform a manual roam on the iPhone to update (Settings, Carrier, remove ticvk from automatic, choose network other than Vodafone, put tick back into automatic).
If you do have tethering enabled, and the access point is in place on the network, it may be that the operating system on the iPhone has not picked this up correctly, and updating the operating system, or performing an operating system restore through iTunes may resolve the issue.
Hope this helps
Grayman
