Lee,
I have bought a PAYG IPHONE from VF and put my contract VF SIM iinto it. I've requested an unlock and I've got a reply:
The iPhone has now been unlocked
Please replace the SIM (use a SIM which has never been used with this iPhone) and connect to iTunes
or
perform a software restore via iTunes.
Can you clarify that I can just perform a restore without a different SIM to unlock the phone? I don't know why a restore would unlock it - as soon as I connect to itunes it will back it up and therefore a restore wont do much. I don't have another Iphone SIM at the mo.
Can you explain, please
Regards

Hi Claustie
Phil’s not in at the moment but he’s pretty good and would have let you know if he had heard from the NUC team yet. I’ll send him an email to see if he can give them a nudge for you.
Hi Barkingmadwuff
Thanks for your post here. You will need to have the non Vodafone SIM in your phone and then you’ll need to sync with iTunes. It will then inform you that your handset is unlocked.
I’m sorry that the mail that you received wasn’t very clear but to unlock your phone, you will need to have the non Vodafone SIM in your handset.
Thanks
Wayne

Wayne,
Thanks for the clarification. Perhaps you can feeback to the NUC team so they can correct their wording?

Give them a nudge? A rocket would be more like it!!!! It's only taken 3 weeks so far and still not resolved!!! Not impressed at all!I I was told 48 to 72 hours to unlock my iPhone 4s on the phone when first requested! Far from a happy bunny!!!!

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your posts here.
The currently guidelines around requesting an NUC for any phone is;
Nokia - 2 working days
BlackBerry - 5 working days
Samsung - 16 working days
Sony Ericsson - 10 working days
All other brands - 3 working days
However these can change depending on how busy our NUC team is and also how busy the manufacturer is.
@ Realheart, Looking at the two references provided I can see that an email was sent to you on 12/04/12 advising you that the charge for ne NUC needs to be paid onto your account through your customer service teams before we can request this for you.
You will need to give them a quick call and everything else can then be sorted for you.
James
