Hi all,
Apologies if this treads over well worn earth, but I am getting very frustrated with Vodafone, having only joined yesterday from O2.
I signed a 24 month deal for an iPhone 4 yesterday eveinng at 6pm and provided my PAC code from O2 at the time of joining. I was advised by the store clerk that my number would be transfered between 10 and 4 today, but nothing has happened. My phone still reads 'Awaiting activation'.
I called Customer Services and was told it would definitely be transfered by 8pm. Still nothing. Tried calling Customer Services again at 8:05 only to find the line closed, even though it states that they are open until 9 on their website.
I have kept my phone(s) off during this time, as advised, but can't see this as a workable solution if I have no idea when the number will transfer! A phone is for making calls and texting on, and I have two in my hands that can do neither until the transfer is made.
Poor service, innacurate information and an unhappy customer, just 24 hours in!

Also, I think I had an issue with getting mine to work - it was connected to my PC by USB cable but just wouldn't load up - it turned out that it was because I didn't have iTunes installed on my PC and it doesn't work until you do.
Let me know if this helps!
As far as Customer Services, it's a 24-hour line and I've definitely called them myself after 9pm. I just checked the Contact Us part of the website and it states that it's only the Lost & Stolen department that's closed after 9pm, so i'd give them another try

Hi Pink82, thanks for getting back to me.
I've inserted the MiscroSim and have installed the latest iTunes so I don't think that is the problem. I've even managed to sync all my music and contacts onto my new phone so nothing appears to not be working in that sense. It's just the transfer of the number that's not happened as they said it would.
With regards to the customer services open times, I read the site slightly differently. I think the Lost and Stolen line is open 24 hours, whereas it says the standard line is open 8-9, even though it appears to shut at 8 anyway. It would make sense to have the lost and stolen line open 24 hours, and I accept that lines for normal customer services can close, they should just have the right info on their website.

I'll bet any money there is a transit blacklist on the iPhone IMEI. Got my iPhone 4 yesterday and it has activated but won't allow any service (selecting Vodafone says "Restricted network") - sim works OK in another iPhone.
My number is coming from O2 today as well, and 191 said the IMEI as blacklisted for some reason and have requested it to come off, however it may take 48 hours! So now my O2 phone has gone offline and I'm well and truly screwed as I now have no working phone.
Give them a ring, and good luck!!

Hi simax and preimann
Thanks for both of your posts here. I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with getting your iPhones up and running. I can appreciate how frustrating this must be for you.
So that we can take a closer look into what has happened here I'm going to send you an email over to the email address that you registered with. All you need to do is hit reply and fill in all of the information it asks for. We'll then get back to you as soon as we possibly can.
In the meantime, make sure you keep syncing with iTunes every now and then as this sometimes forces things to work if they haven't updated correctly.
Thanks
Wayne

I am having the same problem. I have sync'd the itunes with the phone and I called Vodaphone and get them activated finally.
They said they had activated which takes 24 hours. It has crossed over 45 hours now, it still has not activated.
Do you have any 07* number to call vodaphone. It is expensive to call 08* series ?

No different to Orange using 07973 100 150.
Bit of unwarranted editing methinks.
