Suddenly SiM is invalid iphone 5

iPhone 5:

Just updated to i/os 7.1.2 since then I cannot activate phone?

shows as SiM invalid, both onscreen and in iTunes. have performed full DFU restore..still same.

removed and cleaned SiM contacts, replaced several times no joy ??

previous updates worked fine.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there

 

There are 2 possibilities.  Either there is something wrong with the SIM card or there is something wrong with the phone.  Do you have access to another phone that you can put the SIM card into to make sure it is still working?  If it isn't, all you need to do is pop into your nearest Vodafone store and they will provide you with a new SIM card and activate it for you.

 

If it turns out to be the phone that isn't working, you may wish to make an appointment to see a Genius at the nearest Apple Store.  They can check the phone over for you and help with getting it repaired.  You can also use the Vodafone repair service here
