iPhone 5

I have just got an iPhone 5 on the red data plan. The phone keeps losing 3G and just showing the 'o' signal strength, I have to either toggle yet he 3G switch or turn on and off the airplane mode to get back to 3G. All the other phones in the house show full signal 3g but mine shows just 1 bar. I have read about this issue on a number of Internet forums but with no fix. Please can someone help me or I will be cancelling my contract and going with O2, I have had the phone for a week.

I've had this issue before, I find turning the phone off and back on again fixes it.

Having similar problems on new iphone 5 on Vodafone, very recently transferred from 3 Network and to be honest starting to regret move. Very limited 3G coverage between areas I work, Lincoln & Midlands.

What was the outcome? I have a very similar problem with the iPhone 5 and it's driving me crazy! Would love to know if others are experiencing similar issues. 

I'm now on my 2nd iPhone5 handset (having already tried replacing the nano SIM) and still the problem persists.

Anyone got a solution???

Hoping my report below can help one of the tech team troubleshoot this issue for me...

Post Title: BS7 - North Bristol (Horfield)

1). This issue primarily happens when I'm at home. But I have also noticed 3g network dropping while in the gym (BS10 6AZ)
As well as problem with the 3g network dropping, the most frustrating thing with this issue for me is that voice calls drop (mid call!) as well.

2). Primarily happening at home in the BS7 area (see my profile for full postcode) but I have experienced call drops and 3G signal drops in other cells (does this make it a handset problem??!)

3). Unfortunately unable to test - not too many iPhone 5 available in my house... But, this is the second handset I've had from Apple (the first was replaced at the Apple Store) and the issue still persists. Could this be a general problem with the iPhone5??

4). The Faults Board doesn't report any specific known issues for Voice or Data in the cells around my area. Also, this issue has been ongoing for a few months (since I switched to iPhone5)

5). Does this issue happen on 2G, 3G or both? To check, go to the Help Centre, select your phone and then select "network".

6). Primary problem where a voice call is dropped - mid call. So frustrating! Secondary issue, 3G signal drops completely and phone locks onto GPRS only 'o'. Toggle airplane mode or 3G switch sometimes restores 3G connection.

7) Approximately 3 months ago when I started using the new iPhone5. I never experienced similar issues with the iPhone4 (from the same locations)

8) This currently seems to be a perminent intermittent problem! I cannot make it happen, but I would say i regularly get calls dropped - several times a week. Today it happened 3 times already hence my frustration and this post!!!
