Paying extra for nothing extra

Hi just wondering how the £5 credit works if I have a 5-7week wait for the handset. I'm paying £33 now and the upgrade is £48 which is a £10 difference each month taking into account the £5 credit taken off. So why do I have to pay £20 for the privilege just to wait for my phone.

I hear you there.. same for the vast majority afraid.. and it's £5 for every FULL week and wont be paid till Jan. It's also capped at £30..
