Had this phone just over 3 weeks and already it wont charge, tried resetting it etc but nothing will work. Any ideas or suggestions? On Vodafone contract with no insurance. Checked all wires, plugs and checked to see if there was anything blocking the charging port but to no avail.

Hi

Have you tried another lightening cord and plug ?

Have you tried using the lightening cord to hook up to a computer to see if that kick starts it.

Try leaving it on charge for 10 minutes or so because if it's fully depleted it can take a while to start charging.

When you say reset was that via On the iPhone hold down the Sleep/Wake Button and Home button together until the Apple Logo shows. Then On seeing this Apple Logo release both buttons ,and the iPhone will reset , which has been known to clear most glitches.

As you've had it over 14 days Vodafone would send it away for repair.

However if you have an  store local then male an appointment via https://www.apple.com/uk/retail/geniusbar/ and if they cannot remedy it they typically swap it out in store.

If the phone has any charge left in it make a back up to iCloud.

Your best best is to visit an Apple store if possible. There is a known problem with the charging cables and if you have a faulty one Apple will replace it without question. Do you know anyone who has a lightning cable that you can try  to check if it is your cable at fault?

I would avoid letting Vodafone send it away for repair as you will be without a phone for 2-3 weeks whereas if you make an appointment with a Genius at an Apple store they will replace the phone on the spot if it is faulty.

Make sure you make a backup to either iTunes or iCloud before you go any further so that you can restore all of your data to a replacement phone
