Alternative to Google Pay

I am at the end of my patience with Google Pay, it's useless. Can anyone recommend an alternative that can be used in Huawei phones? 

God I wish VF hadn't scrapped Vodafone Wallet!

I use Android Pay and haven't experienced any negative issues with it. 

On a side note as I use Samsung Phones I also use Samsung Pay which again I've had no issues.

I got it for my Samsung note when it was first available and it worked intermittently but wasn't reliable so I got VF Wallet which worked perfectly every time (with the added bonus that it works when the phone is off or out of battery which is very useful).

When VFW ceased I tried GP again and it worked fine for a week or so but hasn't worked since. I had done nothing to the app or the phone but it wouldn't work anywhere.

I've followed Google's advice in uninstalling and reinstalling the app, holding the phone against the terminal for longer and in different positions, but still no joy. I've also recently had an Android update and I was hoping this might sort any firmware issues out but, again, nothing,.

The only alternative I can think of is that the NFC antennae is not working for some reason, Is there a way of testing this?

Hi yes, we exchanged messages on thsat thread. My issue is slightly different, I can select GP as the default, which was the issue raised by the OP on that thread, but it just doesn't word - no error messages just no reaction at all

I had an issue yesterday.  The terminal said something like "card not compatible", which may have meant Google Pay not compatible, or I may have omitted to unlock the phone (which I think you have to do to make GP work?)   It had worked elsewhere an hour or so earlier.

Mine hasn't been working for weeks, no error messages, just no reaction at all. Phone is awake and unlocked.

I've downloaded several NFC testing apps which all say everything is fine.

I just give up, I miss Vodafone Wallet

There are reports that, if you enrol in the beta program for Google Play Services and download that, the problem is fixed.   Have you tried that?

Yes I have enrolled and have the "beta" tab at the top of the screen, when I go into it I have the Gogle Play Services app installed but all my other apps show under the "installed" tabs. I can't find a Google Pay beta app to download.

It seems you have to update Google Play Services after enrolling in Beta.   I'm not sure how you do that (although you do sometimes see it updating by itself).   Have you tried clearing data for the app (the only thing you'll lose is any settings you've changed from default)?   Does that kick start it?  There are reports elsewhere that the beta trick solves the Pay compatibility issue.
