Galaxy S10 - WiFi Calling/RCS?

Hi,

 

Got my S10 today and I can't find the Wi-Fi Calling option in the phone app settings menu. Also, when you try to enable Advanced Chat Features (RCS) in Google Messages it fails with an error along the lines of 'Excuse the wait...'

 

This all worked fine on my S8, so I'm guessing it's just due to the S10 being so new Vodafone haven't either enabled in the software, or updated the network RCS profiles to support the S10/S10+ yet? Support in India didn't have a clue about how to fix it...

 

Any help/update appreciated,

As it's a new flagship phone Vodafone maybe testing it to make sure all is ok - which I assume e it will be @SlinkyWizard 

Its yet to be added to the list of eligible phone models in Vodafone wi-fi-calling

 

This info may / may not help...

 

Calling Over WiFi Set up.

Ask the agent to force the phone via sending an OTA configuration update that should provision your phone for Calling Over WiFi. 

 

Register for Vodafone Wi-Fi Calling....

Text the word CALLING to 97888

This is a free text which will add the service to your account

You should receive the following confirmation text:

Thanks. We’ll add Wi-Fi Calling to your account in the next 24 hours and will let you know when you’re all set up.

If you’d like to discuss this with us, or if you have any other issues, you can find more info here or contact us

Once you receive the confirmation text, switch on Wi-Fi Calling in your settings

Go to Settings, scroll down and choose the Application icon

Choose Phone and scroll down until you see Wi-Fi Calling – select the box beside this option

A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm if you want to enable Wi-Fi Calling – tap OK" "

Done all that, talked to support and still no WiFi calling. Guess they'll eventually enable it in a software update...

Just wish to chime in on this and state that I also have this issue.

 

VoLTE and WiFi Calling perfect on my Samsung purchased S8, my S10 Plus (also purcahsed via Samsung) and neither work via the same SIM card.

 

Can Vodafone provide an official line on this?

@Scribe As @BandOfBrothers has said the S10 and S10+ aren't yet showing on our list of compatible devices for Wi-Fi Calling and it may be that we're currently testing the device to enable this service. Should this be available in the future, this will be added to the page provided. 

I've raised this with our specialists to see if there's any further news on when and if this will be made in the future. Should I receive any further information, I'll get back to you on this thread.

@SlinkyWizard @Scribe Hi both, I've received confirmation that both the S10 and S10+ are both compatible on Wi-Fi Calling.

Sorry, but I too have a problem even finding the wifi calling option on my new S10. I've been on to Vodafone support chat and even went in to their shop and not even they could find it. No real help. Can you please tell me if a solution has been found? I'm sorry if this has been answered, I'm new here. C

Nope even after 4 calls still no joy, responses from Vodafone 

 

1. Factory reset (really!!) Ok done , still no wifi calling

2. Use the my Vodafone app to turn it on. It is already "turned on" 

3, Log on online and turn it on. Once again it is already turned on.

I turned the option off then called to tell them to turn on.... guess what "it seems to be already on"

 

Someone please help us and stop us from dealing with the script clowns and direct me to someone with some technical abilities

Hey @Craigbruun and @madasahat69, I'm really sorry to hear you've been having trouble getting your Wi-Fi Calling set up. 

So I can take a closer look into this for both of you, I've sent you a private message with details on how to get in touch.

I'm having the same problem. Despite contacting Vodafone numerous times it still doesnt work. Can someone please tell me if wifi calling actually works on the Samsung S10 and how they managed to resolve this.
