Galaxy S7 EDGE wifi calling, no option

I have just upgraded last week, i received the phone yesterday, brand new galaxy S7 edge. I have a pay monthly red value plan so i should have wifi calling enabled, and have been told by several advisors that i do have wifi calling and it IS enabled (from their end).

I've now spoken to 5 advisors, on phone and online, they all told me moreorless the same. They had "activated" it on their end....well how can you activate something more than once?

The PROBLEM is that there is no option in my phone to enable wifi calling, anywhere....ive restarted the damned thing 10 times now after being told "restart then go to settings...." sent the text saying "CALLING" to 97888 and received the reply. Its been over 24 hours since i recieved the reply from them, and still i have no option to enable it. Im at my wits end, somebody please help.

Hi everyone,

Apologies for the problems you're all currently having with Wi-Fi Calling.

As far as we're aware at the moment, the next software update will push through a fix for this. As @DaneB advised, we've fed it back and will update the thread when we have any further information.

@PACPhone I'm sorry you're having difficulty with adding WiFi calling to yor account. So we can take a look into this, please contact us via the link in the private message I've sent you.

Still currently no option and the last promised 'I will call you back' still never happened.

Trying the switch off WiFi Calling online ... wait 24 hrs switch back on with re-boots solution.

...

... and that did not work!

It has me stumped amd it certainly seems to have Vodafone stumped!

So .. I switched networks and then bought a more expensive plan than I need with the express requirement of working WiFi calling on a non Vodafone S7 Edge and from this thread there seems to be a known issue but Vodafone still assured me it would work before and since I took out the account.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks

OK... this worked. WiFi calling has been turned on and off by Voda and by SMS multiple times but following advice from a user further up this thread and switching it off myself on my online account via a PC ...then a hard phone reboot then wait 24 hrs ...then turn back on online .. then hard reboot...then wait a few hours and it is there!

Many many Voda people have not solved this!

@PACPhone I'm glad to hear this has been resolved for you, but disappointed it wasn't one of my colleagues that was able to provide the resolution.

Let us know if you'd like us to investigate this and feedback your disappointment to the advisers concerned.

Hi I have the Samsung galaxy S7 edge you can now do Wi-Fi calling you don’t need to do anything in settings As long as you’re connected to Wi-Fi when you go to your contacts and you go to as tho your calling the number  you will see a green phone with a Wi-Fi signal on the top that is your Wi-Fi calling when you exit Wi-Fi It will just go back to normal phone calls I hope this helps if you haven’t fixed this already

I moved from O2 to Vodafone. The only reason I moved was for the WiFi Calling which O2 only support on phones purchased from them and not on unlocked phones.  After checking on the Vodafone web site and asking in the Bristol Vodafone store, both confirmed that it would work on my unlocked Salaxy S7.

I am absolutely at my wits end with this issue. Like everybody else on this thread, the settings option to switch WiFi calling on isn't there.
Here's what I've done so far to attempt to fix this:-

1) I've had 4 technical chats with Vodafone staff. Most of the conversations have been along the lines of "We've fixed that, you'll see it on your phone in 15 minutes". No matter how long I wait or how many times I reboot, it still isn't there. Each time I contact a technical specialist I have to start from the beginning. Total "chatting" time has been 3 hours.
After the last call I was asked to go in to a Vodafone store. They looked at it and told me to send the phone back to Samsung. That was another 3 hours wasted. I conntacted Samsung who categorically stated that it was a Vodafone problem.

2) Also, I've tried everything suggested in this  thread:-
- Text CALLING to 97888 and wait 24 hours.
- Turn WiFi off on My Account, leave overnight, then turn on again.
- Text WEB to 40127 to re-install the settings.
- Installing and selecting the Google Now launcher
- Switching Aeroplane mode on and Wifi back on and attempting to make a call

None of these have worked. I can only think of writing to the CEO now.

@FifteenToOne I'm very sorry to hear you're having problems with your Wi-Fi calling and the steps listed in this thread haven't worked - we do appreciate you trying this first 😊

We'll need to take a look into this further to see why it isn't working for you. So we can access your account, I've sent you a private message with details on how to get in touch.

Hi all, just thought I'd share my experience.

I purchased a Galaxy S7 edge 2nd hand and although unlocked, on Vodafone, recent updates installed and correct calling plan (with Wifi option swithed on in My Vodafone), I did not have the option within call settings to switch Wifi on.  I had vodafone firmware installed my CSC defaulted to VD2 (Germany).  After a week of various calls to Vodafone (with no solution), the Wifi calling solution eluded me........until.

I managed to track down the stock Vodafone firmware for my Galaxy S7 edge with CSC VOD and after flashing, rebooting phone and turniing Wifi Calling option on again in My Vodafone, low and behold I now have the Wifi Calling option within Phone - Settings.  Have tried it a few times and it works a dream.

The firmware which solved my problems was

AP_G935FXXU1DQFG

CSC_VOD_G935FVOD1DQF1

Search   "G935FXXU1DQFG boycracked" and download the United Kingdom(Vodafone), G935FXXU1DQFG, android 7 Nougat, 19.06.2017 firmware file.

Download Odin

Reboot phone into download mode

Attach Downloaded AP file in Odin

Attach Downloaded CSC file (not HOME file) in Odin

Flash phone and reboot.

Switch Wifi calling on in My Vodafone and after a while, the setting will appar in Phone-Settings (May take a few minutes)

Hope this helps.

😉

In their infinite wisdom, Vodafone sold me a new contract (after I threatened to leave) which potentially doesn't support Wifi calling. I say doesn't because I received a txt message saying it was included in my plan but there is no option in my account (web or app) to enable it. Long Web Chat later and I was told the message was from Marketing to all users and Wifi Calling is not included in my plan. I give up!
