Hi I have the Samsung galaxy S7 edge you can now do Wi-Fi calling you don’t need to do anything in settings As long as you’re connected to Wi-Fi when you go to your contacts and you go to as tho your calling the number you will see a green phone with a Wi-Fi signal on the top that is your Wi-Fi calling when you exit Wi-Fi It will just go back to normal phone calls I hope this helps if you haven’t fixed this already
Hi all, just thought I'd share my experience.
I purchased a Galaxy S7 edge 2nd hand and although unlocked, on Vodafone, recent updates installed and correct calling plan (with Wifi option swithed on in My Vodafone), I did not have the option within call settings to switch Wifi on. I had vodafone firmware installed my CSC defaulted to VD2 (Germany). After a week of various calls to Vodafone (with no solution), the Wifi calling solution eluded me........until.
I managed to track down the stock Vodafone firmware for my Galaxy S7 edge with CSC VOD and after flashing, rebooting phone and turniing Wifi Calling option on again in My Vodafone, low and behold I now have the Wifi Calling option within Phone - Settings. Have tried it a few times and it works a dream.
The firmware which solved my problems was
AP_G935FXXU1DQFG
CSC_VOD_G935FVOD1DQF1
Search "G935FXXU1DQFG boycracked" and download the United Kingdom(Vodafone), G935FXXU1DQFG, android 7 Nougat, 19.06.2017 firmware file.
Download Odin
Reboot phone into download mode
Attach Downloaded AP file in Odin
Attach Downloaded CSC file (not HOME file) in Odin
Flash phone and reboot.
Switch Wifi calling on in My Vodafone and after a while, the setting will appar in Phone-Settings (May take a few minutes)
Hope this helps.
😉
I moved from O2 to Vodafone. The only reason I moved was for the WiFi Calling which O2 only support on phones purchased from them and not on unlocked phones. After checking on the Vodafone web site and asking in the Bristol Vodafone store, both confirmed that it would work on my unlocked Salaxy S7.
I am absolutely at my wits end with this issue. Like everybody else on this thread, the settings option to switch WiFi calling on isn't there.
Here's what I've done so far to attempt to fix this:-
1) I've had 4 technical chats with Vodafone staff. Most of the conversations have been along the lines of "We've fixed that, you'll see it on your phone in 15 minutes". No matter how long I wait or how many times I reboot, it still isn't there. Each time I contact a technical specialist I have to start from the beginning. Total "chatting" time has been 3 hours.
After the last call I was asked to go in to a Vodafone store. They looked at it and told me to send the phone back to Samsung. That was another 3 hours wasted. I conntacted Samsung who categorically stated that it was a Vodafone problem.
2) Also, I've tried everything suggested in this thread:-
- Text CALLING to 97888 and wait 24 hours.
- Turn WiFi off on My Account, leave overnight, then turn on again.
- Text WEB to 40127 to re-install the settings.
- Installing and selecting the Google Now launcher
- Switching Aeroplane mode on and Wifi back on and attempting to make a call
None of these have worked. I can only think of writing to the CEO now.
@FifteenToOne I'm very sorry to hear you're having problems with your Wi-Fi calling and the steps listed in this thread haven't worked - we do appreciate you trying this first 😊
We'll need to take a look into this further to see why it isn't working for you. So we can access your account, I've sent you a private message with details on how to get in touch.
I reported this problem back in Oct 2017 so thought I would summarise for others how this resolved itself as Vodafone themselves were not able to resolve this at all after multiple calls/chat. My situation was as follows:
My conclusion is that if you have a Vodafone supplied S7 edge there is a chance you will lose the wifi calling option if you do a factory reset and won't get it back again until Vodafone push a firmware update that somehow resets this setting back to normal.
I have exactly the same problem .Talked to Voda tech help and tried all the solutions in this thread but still no WiFi Calling option on my S7 Edge unlocked .
Two years and still no solution from Vodafone, even though the Voda website continues to say WiFi calling works with all versions of S7 Edge .
Come on Vodafone...is there a solution or not .If not change your website and stop deceiving customers.

I have it in writing from Vodafone Tech that it doesn't work on all S7s.
Essentially, you need the generic firmware installed. I bought the phone on Amazon as an unlocked phone but it didn't have the generic firmware on it. Flashing is the only option but risky so I decided to live without it.
Ironically, I moved from O2 because they were upfront about it.
Vodafone did offer to release me from my contract but decided to stay in the end.
Thanks for that. But what do they mean by generic firmware. My S7 Edge is sim free, unlocked. Isn’t that generic?
If anyone's still interested, I've now solved this for the S7 and the S8 and I think it works with other phones as well.
To get the Settings option for WiFi calling....install Nova launcher and activate it.
Go to Widgets > Nova Activities
Scroll down to Settings
Scroll down to WiFi Calling and select
It should put an icon on your home screen to switch WiFi calling on and off. With me on the S7 and S8, it also activated the proper setting in Settings and gave me a WiFi Calling icon on the Quick Start pull-down.
You can then return to your normal launcher if you're not using Nova perminentaly.
Hope this helps.
Thanks I ve tried this, but the wifi calling constantly defaults to off. Any suggestions?
No suggestions I'm afraid It worked for me on a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, S8 Plus and an Honor 8X.
I've just tried it also and have the same problem. Just keeps going back to Off.
Probably a silly question, but have you got WiFi Calling enabled on your Voda account?
This is the screen I get when using the Nova setting.
It would seem I am facing the same situation, exact same phone, exact same symptoms and situations.
Please could I get these settings which enable wifi calling also?
Hi Colleen,
Please could I request these wifi calling settings, which seem to be working for others, to my phone.
Regards
Craig
If you mean the method using Nova, they're earlier in this thread.
Hi iainmann,
Thank you for your reply, unfortunately the approach suggested using another launcher does not work.
I can enable wifi calling using the option in the widget, it however doesn't stick and the next time the setting is viewed it is disabled again.
This reply was only intended as a guide for anyone else facing the same issue.
If anyone stumbles across this thread, that the steps to enable wifi calling seem to be:
1. Enable Wifi calling in My Vodafone or Send a txt to Vodafone "CALLING" to 97888
2. The phone wifi calling settings are automatically applied by Vodafone
Reply from Vodafone support:
"Craig, I've checked everything from my side, I came to know that we are sending settings from here however your device is not accepting it and not creating the options for you to toggle the wi-fi calling.
We have worked upon thousands of such queries and successfully got wi-fi calling options installed.
For you, I need to send the details to back end team, this will be checked on server level and they will notify you once they work upon this.
Here is the reference number <reference removed>
This will take 24-48 hours."
and
"We have dedicated software wherein we just out the mobile number and device make and model and system initiates the settings.
Your APN is in place, you can check with below steps
its automatic settings not a physical one, it directly get options appeared on the phone."
At present though I am hoping Vodafone support work out where the problem lies, I will post any followup.
Regards
Craig
