Issue with viewing UK only videos

I could log this under mobile BB, home BB or pay monthly but as it's an android phone I plumped for this one. 

I can't view videos on BBC Sport or Sky Sports that are for UK only, on my phone. Whether I am using my VF 4G, VF BB or any other WiFi, I get the message "this video is not available in your location" despite being in the UK. Any ideas?

Hi, yes I am signed in with my BBC ID which has UK as my location, my IP addresses, according to online checkers are UK ones, being 85. when on 4g and 90. when on VF BB and my phone is, as far as a know, a UK one.... Just don't see what is causing it.

Hi @SimonWilding I too have had this problem on the BBC for years now, found this

And scroll down to bottom and followed the advice there about "reduce data usage" as I had the Google setting on my chrome browser set for this, turned it off and now works.

It's found in chrome settings then scroll down to data saver.

Thanks @63johnw that's worked fine. Very odd though, it didn't stop me using the iplayer just viewing videos on the BBC website and it lso happend when using WiFi when, I assume, data saver wasn't being used....

Probably as iPlayer isn't using chrome to access its content, only affected if directly using chrome, as Google servers used to reduce the data, they must be overseas and hence BBC not allowing it. Glad it's sorted for you.
