Hi loftysaltmarsh

The latest software that I can see is XXUFNC8.

You can see how to update the software for your phone here.

DaveCD

Thanks DaveCD.

I've checked again and it is saying that XXUFND7 is the up to date firmware.

Obviously this is over the air......could the code be different if done through kies?

A little googling and I think XXUFND7 may be newer.

Can anyone confirm this?

Hi loftysaltmarsh,

There should be no difference in the software code.

As DaveCD mentioned, XXUFNC8 is the latest version of firmware we have available.

Thanks,

Andy

If it is crashing, have you done a factory reset on the device?

PWIAC

a) that removes all the data, and if you have apps that save their data in locations that need root access, you can't get to it.

b) even I do a factory update, it will update again to the latest version.  Which puts me back in the same position I'm in now, but without the data I couldn't back up.

A factory reset will reload the operating system from ROM and, yes, it will be the latest version.  Yes, you will lose app data, but the reset will remove any bits of code that are left over from the old firmware and should restore stability to the phone.  It's more likely to be that that's causing the problem than the latest firmware itself, though.
