OnePlus Wifi Calling + VoLTE

Hi,

 

I have OnePlus 6 and know that Wifi Calling + VoLTE is supported by the device.  The phone does not appear on the Vodafone list of compatible phones:

Is this because Vodafone chooses not to support the device or does the OnePlus 6 lack something that makes it incompatible with this Vodafone service?

 

I will be up for contract renewal soon and this will be a factor on wheter I stay or move to a network that supports this feature on my device.

 

Hopefully Vodafone staff frequent this forum.

What's the latest on this? I've just ported my line to Vodafone to find out I can't do Wifi calling any longer! Please advise

OK - so I had this working with my Oneplus 6 and recently upgraded to Oneplus 7T - lost the ability to use VolTE with Vodafone again.

I have a 3 SIM as a secondary sim (for emergency use) in the 7T and that has VolTE and Wifi Calling enabled - just not Vodafone. Using the same SIM card and phone number - so not sure what on earth is going on....

Incredibly frustrating - as I have a week Vodafone signal at work and the Wifi calling was great..

Came across this post on XDA forums...

I installed the APK for Android 10 from the link in the 1st post and then performed the steps in the 1st post:

Open the dialer: *#800# --> oneplus Logkit --> Function Switch --> enable VoLTE + VoWifi switch

Rebooted the phone and the VoLTE logo appeared in the top right status bar and I was able to go into SIM settings for the Vodafone sim and can now see the VoLTE and WiFi calling options.

Just to bear in mind - as mentioned in my earlier posts - I did contact Vodafone previously and ask them to enable VoLTE support on my account.

Re calls dropping after 15 minutes, I can confirm this is a known issue. Apparently affecting Vodafone and O2 customers. I have submitted a OnePlus Bug Report

That looks like an O2 specific issue.

I had the 15 min drop out using Vodafone, I thought it might have been something to do with Wifi calling.

My OnePlus 6T is now my primary phone for work, I am regularly on conference calls. The line drops each and every time the call runs over 15 mins. Hopefully OnePlus will fix in the next code drop

Since this obviously works - why is it not officially supported?

This worked for me on Vodafone UK on Oneplus 8
