Hi, I've got unlimited texts but they aren't sending.

Does anyone know why?

Thanks!

Hi @Kellylouise6

Are you just sending words only and not adding in emoticons / pictures and staying within 160 characters ? If not then these could be trying to convert to mms messages which are charged for and not part of your normal texting allowance.

Also on occasion a persons Vodafone Account needs provisioning to send mms messages which Customer Services do for the account holder.

Also some phones have mms restrictions in them that need addressing to allow texts to be sent.

If the above is not the case then may I ask ....

Can you receive Texts Ok ?

Is this to people also on Vodafone or people also on other Networks ?

Is this issue to all your contacts or just a particular one ?

> If some contacts then you may have accidentally added their number to the phones (if applicable) text blocking feature or they've possibly added you. Please check your phone and ask the others to check theirs.

Is this to competitions Texts etc ?

Please check the Bar settings in Your MyVodafone just to ensure all is Ok.

Have you recently ported from another Network to Vodafone ?  > If so ask Customer Services to check you haven't been affected by a Split Port where not all the files have settled.

Is this happening everywhere or at home / work etc ?

This is an official Vodafone template to use to self Troubleshoot and copy and paste it back here with your answers in order for the Social Media Team here to look over > Network-issues-initial-checks-and-template.

As a process of elimination to rule the phone or SIM card that may be at issue can you please try your SIM card in another phone and another sim card in your phone.

Also give Customer Services a call on 191 or use Live Chat just to have your Account checked.

If it turns out to be the SIM card then any Vodafone Highstreet Store can replace the sim via a sim swap as a last resort.

Hi try this some times just using the restart on your device can kick it up a notch if not go into your settings find apps and then messaging make sure it's the one you have issue with if it's general sms every device I have owned it just says messing rather than WhatsApp or Facebook messenger then press on clear on cache and try again if that doesn't work go back and clear data and cache and  then try if that fails wmtwmaw haven try a clear partition cache or even more drastic .

Before making any changes make your your software is up to date and make frequent backups before any changes and it's also healthy  to do it intermittently as you never know when a fault can arise

Hi @Kellylouise6

The first thing to check is you have the correct message centre number.  This is explained on the link below.

How do I set up text messages?

If your phone is confirming the message has been sent, this will be a problem at the receiving end and this will be something needing to be taken up with the receiving network. You can also try a replacement SIM card obtainable from a Vodafone Store, this may sort it out for you.

If you continue to have issues, live chat will be able to check that your messages are leaving the network and find the reason for your messages failing.

I think so!
