Default to credit rating - URGENT

Hello,
If anyone could help me that would be great, all advice welcome.

I have been a loyal customer to Vodafone for many years. I have had a pay monthly contract since 2011 and I have never had an issue with them. I have always paId for my contract on time, with no delayed payments and the direct debit has been taken out my account with no issues. Vodafone are always happy to help, via online chats, call centres and even in stores.

Recently I investigated my credit score (I am looking into applying for a credit card and mortgage). Thinking I had no bad credit history, I decided to run a free credit report with Clear Score. The report showed me I have been in default to Vodafone and that I have missed payments, which I found very shocking. I called Vodafone and they confirmed with myself I have not missed any payments on my account and that I am not in default. I have asked for evidence numerous times in a letter or email format, just so I can dispute it with Clear Score and any other credit report provider. I am yet to receive such documentation after asking numerous times.

I then checked another credit score report (Noddle) who provided an even more accurate description of the so called ‘default account’ I hold with Vodafone. It stated that I am in debt to Vodafone Gemini LTD of £1076.00 (which is a lot of money!!!) and the account has been in default since July 2015. I’m a guy who will happily pay for any errors on my behalf. However Vodafone are unable to justify how I’m in this debt and their own representatives are informing me that no such default account exists.

I have called Vodafone numerous times. I have spoken with customer services who are unable to help, as apparently there is no such debt associated with the account I hold with them. This is having an effect on myself as I’m in the process of looking for a mortgage and I want to improve my credit score.

All advice is welcome. Thanks.

Hi @SallisDJ

The Vodafone Community forum is monitored by Vodafone U.K.

There are members of the Vodafone Social Media Team who are available to respond and Help where they can. They have the Vodafone logo next to their name so a person knows they are officially Vodafone.
All posts are read by them so please Hang in there and I'm sure they'll be in touch.

I appreciate and understand how damaging a default and or marker can be ,and the difficulty in having one removed from a Credit File.

Below is a help thread I put together which gives information on what can be done and about a Notice of Correction.

Http://www.experian.co.uk can also help and advise you.
