You delete apps that you don't want or use anymore or buy an SD card and copy things like you music and photos over to it.  Some apps will allow you to move them over to the SD card.

Hi, you also have various cloud based options you can use to back up/free up space on your phone.

The other suggestions are all good.  If you just want the extra space to store content - eg photos or music, you can store that on an external sd card and the advantage is that, when you get a new device, you simply swap the card over.   Samsung devices, afaik, have a system file manager that will write to the sd card (the additional security in recent versions of Android prevent 3rd party apps doing that).

In the case of camera photos, you can set the camera to use an external card as storage rather than in ternal memory.
