1) Does the issue happen in just one location? If so, how far do you have to travel to regain service?

Issue is in my or neighbours house on Wick Lane usually one bar only on several phones iphone and Android , coverage outdoors in reasonable three bars

2) What is the full postcode (e.g. ST1 1AA) of where the issue occurs? If you don't want this showing on the Community, add it to your profile here.

GL19 4DS

 3) Does the issue occur if you try your SIM card in a different phone?

 Yes

4) What errors are seen or heard when the issue occurs?

Frequently the first I know of a call is VM as the signal is too poor inside the house for first call pick up ,  usually moving the phone provides a signal strong enough for VM text,   This is despite the phone(s) usually showing signal albeit a weak one

5) Does this happen on 2G, 3G, 4G or all?

This is mostly for me a voice 2G issue ,  data is also slow (3/4G) so I use wireless at home most of the time despite this being very slow its consistent

6) When did you first notice this issue?

This has been ongoing for a few months now but much more noticeable as I am now working from home a lot more

7) Is the issue permanent or intermittent? If intermittent, are there certain times of the day when it occurs?

Signal strength is poor generally but there are some days when the incidence of missed call is more than others for example yesterday 11/10/17 was very poor all day, today only the odd missed call.  Assume this is weather related as its often worse during inclement weather which would make some sense on an already poor signal

Hi @pug205rally

The Vodafone Mast checker does not report any known issues for your local or surrounding masts so this sounds like a mast congestion issue possibly.

Are you aware that there is a device called a Vodafone Sure Signal that works off Home Broadband WiFi that creates a 3g signal in the home. It does cost a one off £69 however.

For those that are in eligible contract types and accepted handset types there is Calling Over WiFi.

More info in > wi-fi-calling.

I hope this clears up for all those affected asap.

Hi

Many thanks for the reply am aware of the suresignal and have borrowed one from a friend to try.  unfortunately being a rural location as yet untoched by the BDUK Broadband roll out I do not have sufficient band width to be able to use one.   1Mb Down and 250Kb up

Using Opensignal I suspect I am on the edge of several masts and appear to swap around from mast to mast when in my house if I read the informaiton on my phone correctly (I may not be) all with similar signal strength .  Not sure if it congestion or simply poor signal hence the original post

Thanks again for posting a suggestion
