Hi all

I seem to have activated the weather report and news alerts on lock screen, and can find how I did it.  Been through the settings many times now and cant see how I activated the changes or how to cancel.

How do I cancel the weather and news alerts on lock screen ?

Many thanks.

Thanks for your offer of help.

Yesterday I went back to the Vodaphone shop and was helped out there.  your man was very helpful and managed to unsubscribe me.  Asked how he said he had sent STOP in reply to 41117.  I said I had repeatedly tried the same with no effect other than an 8888 response  "Sorry, we did not recognise your request."  etc.  also offering a different service at http://live.vodaphone.co.uk/alert which was no help at all.  Stiill, all's well that ends well.

If you want these messages to stop it's no good typing in STOP replying from the displayed message, go to your keypad and dial the number to reply to and then send a text STOP to the number, it will then work.

Nice to know now.  After loosing up to £15 credit.  Where did this information get published?????

I found out by having been recently sent random messages by Vodafone and trying to reply from the same 'page' only to get another message saying that my message or the number was not recognised and could not be sent so I dialed the number from the keypad, chose 'send message' typed STOP in the text box and send, message then come back telling me that message successfully sent. I think it also said that the messages would stop within the next 28 days, I'll believe that when it happens! Another devious way Vodafone trys to extract money from you, there's lots of things they are very secretive about but we're beginning to suss them out!

Thanks, @froggerty .  This is an issue that's been coming up a bit recently and it's nice to find a solution as the other way seemed to be via the Vodafone Live website which I believe is defunct.
