i had 4mbs earlier!!

but try and open a browser and it says "page can not be displayed"

its a clean install of XP Pro SP3

if i plug laptop into our network internet is fine.

any ideas? can i test the card somehow?

if the sim had been disabled it wouldnt autenticate im guessing?

**Edit** sorry forgot to mention its a flashing blue light on the modem when it says its "connected"

Hey there mudcow007,

Strange! Well, if you're connecting and the modem light turns from a blinking blue light to a solid blue light that can flicker (but generally stays 'solid'), then that is a connection for sure.

I would check:

- any firewalls / virus checkers running in the background. It could be that connection via VMC is being blocked by one of these apps.
- connection via the Start > Connect To > VMC option. This bypasses the Vodafone Mobile Connect and might do the trick!
- The latest Vodafone Mobile Connect version; install alongside the VMC Lite (no need to uninstall the Lite).
- The modem SIM works in, say, your mobile or another modem to carry data.

Let us know how you get on with the above - any extra details that you can include will help us understand this problem better!

Also try Prox server settings - you may be using them of office network.

In Internet Exp - tools / internet options / connections / settings....try turning off any settings when using MBB.
