I phone 4 GS signal

I have had my phone for 2 years now and have never had any problems with Apple or Vodafone until now I have allways had good signal in my area but now I have none yet I go 7 miles down the road and I recive signal my wife has an iphone 3 and she has signal In the same spot I don't I have not damaged my phone and it works fine most places can u help as this is driving me crazy
