There is never any harm asking but its a pay monthly arrangement. It quite a large amount of money to have as a credit towards future bills.
The best way to discuss this further is to call the Broadband Team on 08080 034 515.

I am with VM and get a 15% discount for paying a year in advance.

Enquiring with them now. If it was a mobile account, then I wouldn't pay VAT. Whether its the same for internet, I'll soon find out...

@MrTAToad Chances are you will pay VAT as that is levied on the total amount for the service, only the tax point differs.
