My Vodafone K4203 mobile broadband works fine with Proximus simcard. Now I want to use the cheaper Base simcard. Everything works fine, untill I press the connect button. Nothing happens when I press this button. Could it be that there is a simlock on the K4203, so that it only works with Proximus simcard?

Hi there

Where did you buy this device from, was it from Vodafone UK?  If so, you will need to request that the device is unlocked.  If it was supplied on PAYG, there is a £19.99 charge to get it unlocked.

I bought it in Belgium, pay and surf with Proximus SIM.

Thank you for your reply. If I contact the shop where I bought it (Essec), they say: You have to ask Vodafone. But I think I know enough. It is a matter of SIM lock.

So, was the device originally supplied by Vodafone UK? If it's wasn't one of their devices, they can't unlock it?
